Integrated Marketing Campaign

We were asked to…

Newark & Sherwood District Council undertook a campaign aimed at females between the ages of 35-64 years, within a 60-90 minute drive of Newark town centre. The proposition was to encourage them to choose Newark for their next day trip or short break with a focus on the history of the town.

Our call to action was to attract visitors to www.visitnewark.co.uk and the campaign ran from 5th October 2020 for a recommended three weeks (up to half-term week).

Our campaign objectives were:

  • To promote Newark as a day visit/short break destination using a mix of digital marketing, digital PR and traditional press tactics.
  • To enhance web traffic and visibility online.
  • To raise further awareness of Newark’s brand message as an historic market town with some unique attractions.
  • Ultimately, to help increase the number of day trippers and weekend visitors.

We implemented a comprehensive plan that ran for three weeks that combined Google Adwords, social media activity, online and offline press advertising, digital and traditional PR activity that included editorial, blog creation, liaison with press contacts and influential bloggers.
